Oak Trees

The Nature of Oaks (Timber Press, 2021) by Douglas W. Tallamy, follows the life of an oak tree from October through September. During these 12 months, Tallamy explains that this type of tree “supports more forms of life and more fascinating interactions than any other tree genus in North America.”

Tallay’s information is interesting and understandable. He explains how to grow an oak, its special growth habits, the types grown best in each section of the country, and the wildlife supported by these trees.
